KindLearn

Choose Your Language

These estimates come from the US Foreign Service Institute, which has trained diplomats for decades and publishes how many hours of instruction an English speaker needs to reach general professional proficiency in each language. They describe the language itself, not this course — KindLearn's 30-day challenge is a foundation of roughly 300 words, not fluency.

Choose by goal and by effort. Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch are the FSI's easiest group for English speakers; Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Arabic are its hardest and each has a new script. Every one of the 13 has the same free 30-day course.

About fifteen minutes, so the 30 days come to about seven hours. Take each lesson whenever suits you — nothing is locked to a calendar.
